Meet Our Team

Dr Alan Irving  B.V.Sc M.R.V.S. M.B.A
Veterinarian

Dr Alan Irving gratuated from the Veterinary School at the University of Queensland in 1968 and establised practices at Modbury and Salisbury and then with his brother, Robert at Elizabeth Park and Midway Road, Elizabeth East.

During the 1970's and 80's he attended many post-graduate courses in the United States and in recent years within Australia and has utilized this experience to advance the facilities and services given here in Adelaide.

During his career he has employed both Australain and international Veterinay graduates, many of whom now manage their own practices both here in Adelaide and overseas.

Dr Irving holds a Commercial Pilot's Licence and has also completed a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Adelaide.


Dr Irving's dream was to own his very own Aircraft. He is now proud to say that his dream has come true with a 1957 Auster which he flies to his home at One Tree Hill.

Dr Robert Irving  B.V.Sc
Veterinarian

Dr Robert irving gratuated from the Veterinary School, University of Queensland in 1971.

After working in South East Queensland, Robert returned to work in partnership with his brother Alan in Adelaide developing the Elizabeth Park and Midway Road Clinics.

Dr Irving now spends much of his time helping Aboriginal Communities throughout Australia with their animal health problems. This takes him to Cape York, Arnehemland, Central Australia and to isolated communities in Western Australia. Much of this travel is done in four wheel drive vehicles and light aircraft.  

Dr Gary Stevens  B.V.Sc
Veterinarian

Dr Stevens joined our team of Veterinarians in 2003 after migrating from Zimbabwe with his family. He works at our Elizabeth Park and Midway Rd Clinics.

Dr Stevens owned and operated his own practice before coming to Australia, and has a special interest in diagnostic imaging and surgery.  In his spare time, Dr Stevens enjoys playing squash,tennis,golf and spending time with family and friends.

Dr Stevens owns three very mischievous cats.
 

Dr Wendy Neadley  B.V.Sc
Veterinarian

Dr Neadley joined our team in December 2008 and works at our Midway Road Clinic.

Dr Neadley was born in Durban, South Africa and gratuated from the University of Pretoria in 1985. She is married with 2 teenage children.

She started her own Veterinary Clinic in Durban in 1991, treating small animals in a suburban area.
She sold her practice in October, 2008 and emigrated to Australia.

Dr Neadley's hobbies include mountain bike riding and bird watching.

Dr Yoon-Kyung Kim  B.V.Sc
Veterinarian

Dr Kim joined out team in 2006 and works at our Elizabeth Park Clinic.

Dr Kim was born in Korea and gratuated from the University of Melbourne in 2004.

She moved to Adelaide with husband Paul in 2005.  She loves Adelaide beaches and the relaxing life style as she came from a big and busy city, Seoul, with a population of 14 million.

Dr Kim has a number of adored pets at home.  2 dogs and 3 cats which were hand reared since they were 3 days old, 2 parrots, 2 chickens and 1 Guinea Pig.

Her hobbies include fishing and spending lazy days at the beach.

Dr Nina De Goede  B.V.Sc
Veterinarian

Nina joined our team in 2009 and works at our Elizabeth Park Clinic.

Nina graduated from the Murdoch University Veterinary School and has worked in small animal practices for the last 12yrs.

She enjoys all aspects of Veterinary practice, but especialy internal medicine, behaviour & Dentistry.

Nina's hobbies include soccer,reading,stand up comedy and going to the gym.

Nina has 2 dogs and 2 cats at home who obligingly share her couch.

Dr Hanna Long  B.V.Sc
Veterinarian

Dr Hanna joined our team in late 2010 and can be found working at our Salisbury Clinic.

Hanna grew up in Essex in the United Kingdom and gratuated from the Royal Veterinay College in London in 2009. She also completed a degree in Veterinary Pathology, which involed a period of time working at the London Zoo.

Hanna moved from England to Australia in November 2009, pror to this she worked for a small animal practice in Whyalla for a year, before moving to Adelaide.

Hanna has some much loved pets of her own at home. A pair of Siamese and Oriental cats named "Miyu" & "Meika", 2 Guines Pigs named "Harry" & "Ron", and a collection of cold water fish.

Dr Beeli Tan  B.V.Sc
Veterinarian

Dr Tan gratuated from the University of Queensland in 2000.

She currently works as a Locum Veterinarian and fills in for the full-time Vets here at the Adelaide Northern Veterinary Group.

In her spare time she likes gardening, spending time with friends and knitting.

Hailey  Qualified

Hailey joined our team in January 2008 and can be found working at our Modbury as Head Nurse.

Hailey has completed her certificates in vet nursing and is now a qualified vet nurse.

Her goals are to open up her own animal shelter.


Lynda  Dip V.N
Head Nurse

Lynda joined our team in 1999, and is our head nurse at our Elizabeth Park Clinic.

Lynda has achieved certificates II, III & IV in veterinary nursing making her a fully qualified veterinary nurse. and attained the Diploma of veterinary nursing in 2004, one of the highest veterinary nursing qualifications in Australia.

 Lynda has also been awarded the Australian Veterinary Association's veterinary nursing badge and has completed the Hills Nutritional adviser course.

Lynda is kept busy looking after her 3 sons.

Reynal  Certificate lV

Reynal joined our team in 2004, and has worked at all four of our clinics. Currently she can be found working at our Salisbury Clinic as our Head Nurse. She also helps out with administration at One Tree Hill and  is a member of the Veterinary Nurses Council of South Australia.

Reynal previously worked in administration & financial planning before deciding to take up a career caring for animals. Working for the Animal Welfare League before becoming a nurse with our practice. Her love of animals and the variety and challenges of day to day clinic life makes being a vet nurse so rewarding. She particularly enjoys helping clients with animal weight control and bereavement management.
 

In her spare time Reynal enjoys writing music, playing the piano and singing. She also likes to keep fit by competeing in cylcing events, going to the gym and spending time with family and friends.

Reynal has two very cheeky Pomeranian cross Chihuahuas called Minnie-Me and Marvin-Trent. A cat called Halfstachio, (adopted from the clinic) and birds Antony, Emma, Chloe, Steve and Jenny-Jenny (a rescued lorrikeet from the clinic).

 
 

Kylie  Certificate III
Head Nurse

Kylie is the Head Nurse of our Midway Road Clinic and has been part of our team since 1999.

Kylie has completed her Certificates II & III in Veterinary Nursing. 

 Kylie is also responsible for the upkeep of this website.             

 Kylie previously worked in retail but wanted to become a veterinary nurse because of her love for animals and says that she enjoys all aspects of Veterinary Nursing.

Kylie has an array of pets at home including eight cats, three dogs named Bonnie, Rouge and Wags even the unusual pet 1  Bredli Python named Bradley.

In her spare time she likes catching up with friends and family and spending time gardening with her little helper Alexis.

Jaimi  Cerficate III
Veterinary Nurse

Jaimi joined our team in March 2007 and can be found working at our Elizabeth Park clinic.

Jaimi started at our Modbury clinic as groomer but she had always wanted to pursue a career in vet nursing.

She started her study at TAFE and completed certificate 2 in animal and Laboratory Techniques and is now currently finishing her certificate IV in vet nursing.

 

Courtney  Certificate III
Veterinary Nurse

Courtney joined our team in 2008 after completeing a weeks work experience, and can be found at our Midway Rd clinic.

She previously worked in retai,l but after spending a week here in the practice, and her love for animals she discovered that being a vet nurse was what she wanted to pursue.

Courtney is a hard worker, a fast learner and strives to be the best nurse she possible. She enjoys all aspects to vet nursing and loves interacting with the pets and their owners.

She also runs our Puppy Preschool classes which she enjoys.

Courtney has a very bouncy and cheeky tenterfield terrier called "Muriel" at home along with 4 cats Fraidy, Poppy, Gizzy & Gilly.

Her home is always open to those speacial care patients, and she is forever giving unwanted kittens the care they need until they are healthy enough to be rehomed.

Courtney is currently on maternitiy leave and will return in late 2012.
 

Jessica  Certificate IV
Veterinary Nurse

Jessica joined our team in 2009 after completeing a weeks work experience and can be found working at our Elizabeth Park Clinic.

Jessica is currently studing certificate IV in veterinary Nursing. After completeing her study Jessica wants specialise in critical & Emergency care.

She enjoys all aspects of vet nursing but most ofall she enjoys diagnostic blood results & detailed explainations of how and why, and the anatomy of animals.

Jessica has many pets at home 4 cats which were all adopted throught the clinic, 2 dogs a crazy dalmation x cattle dog and a Cairn Terrier.
 

Carly  Certificate IV
Veterinary Nurse

Carly has been with the team since 2006 and can be found at our Salisbury Clinic.

Carly spent a week at the clinic doing work experience and we saw a potential Veterinary Nurse in the making and made her a part of the team. Carly is excited to have the opportunity to work in a veterinary clinic as she loves animals and had plans to work with animals once she had completed school.

Carly is now a qulalfied vet nurse.

Carly finds surgery the most interesting, mainly in Dentistry. 

In her spare time Carly likes spending time with her partner David, friends and family and enjoys listerning to music and seeing live music events. 

She has two Jack Russell cross Chihuahuas who are brothers called Busta and Reily.

Carly enjoys travelling overseas, she's travelled through America and plans to see Eroupe next year with her partner. She hopes to one day work overseas.

Veterinary Nurse

Jessica joined our practice in 2006 and works mainly at our Midway Road Clinic she is a qualified veterinary nurse.

Jessica has wanted to be a veterinary nurse ever since she was in primary school and has done quite a lot of study and work experience to fulfill her dream prior to joining our team. Some of her accomplishments include completing studies in Animal Attending and she also holds a Diploma of Applied Science in Animal Technology.

Jessica has a very happy nature and strives to provide both our clients and their pets with outstanding care and compassion and is very dedicated to their health and welfare.

Jessica currently returned from her trip overseas and is now wanting to work in different vet clinics around the world.

Jessica also enjoys spending time with Family and friends

Erin  Certificate lV
Veterinary Nurse

Erin joined our team in 2006 and is our 2IC at the Elizabeth Park clinic. 

Erin has a bright and bubbly personality which clients and their pets love.

Erin is now a qualified vet nurse.

In her spare time Erin enjoys horse riding, caring for injured and orphaned wildlife and going out with friends.

Erin has a menagerie of pets at home including 2 dogs "Skally" the German Shepard, "Zena" the Maremma, "Jeremy" the Burmese, 2 Cockateils, 2 Beared Dragons, "Slinky" the Guinea pig and 1 horse named “Josephine”

Melissa  Certificate lll
Veterinary Nurse

Melissa works at our Salisbury clinic.

Melissa spent a week doing work experience at the clinic and was so keen that we knew we had to make her a part of the team! She is very excited to be working in a veterinary clinic as she has a passion to work with animals.

Melissa enjoys hand rearing and raising animals that need that extra love.

Melissa's school also realized her passion for working as a veterinary nurse and have allowed her to do Certificate IV in Animal Studies as part of her studies at school. Melissa enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing and hopes to one day become a Head Veterinary Nurse or go onto university to become a Veterinarian.

Melissa is currently studying certificate 4 in veterinary Nursing.

Melissa has a Maltese cross Shitzu called Milo. He is only young and is a naughty and cheeky boy who thinks he can get away with everything and a 18mth old German Sheppard named Ella and they are the best of friends.

Stephan  Certificate lV
Veterinary Nurse

Stephan  can be found working at our Salisbury and Modbury vet clinics.

For the previous 2 years Stephan has been working at TAFE SA as part of the Technical Services team as an Animal Attendant.

Several years prior to moving to Adelaide, Stephan lived and worked in the Riverland as a Vet Nurse. In 2010 he completed his studies and is now a qualified vet nurse.

Stephan also has 2 grown up sons living in Adelaide, and has just recently become a grandfather.

After volunteering for SA Dolphin Research Foundation for 2 years and the Department of Environment and Heritage doing Fauna Surveys for a further 2 years Stephan decided on a big career change for Stephan is a fully qualified boilermaker welder and Diesel mechanic.

Stephan hobbies include fishing, camping, Bush walking and bird watching.

Kerryn  
Veterinary Nurse
Kerryn joined our team in 2010 after completing a weeks work experience. She previously worked in a pharmacy, but strived to work with animals as this is her passion.

She's currently attending Tafe, and having completed her Certificate 1 in Animal Studies she is going on to complete Certificate II and IIII in Veterinary nursing.

Kerryn is a very sociable, with an outgoing attitude and enjoys all aspects of her job.
In her spare time, Kerryn enjoys spending time with friends and family, going to the river, shopping and visits to Melbourne.

Kerryn has 2 dogs at home - Kara and Buddy, 2 cats - Bella and Cleo, 1 turtle - Crush, and a cockatiel - Pretty boy.

Kerryn is currently completing year 12 with goals to become a fully qualified Vet Nurse in the future.
Taryn  
Veterinary Nurse

Taryn joined our team in 2009 and can be found working at our Midway Road Clinic.

Taryn enjoys all aspects of vet nursing, but mostly surgical nursing as she finds animal anatomy fasinating.

In Taryn's spare time she enjoys listening to music aswell as composing and performing it. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Taryn has 1 dog named Tyson aswell as an axalotal named Johnny. 

Kristy  Certificate lV
Veterinary Nurse

 Kristy joined our Salisbury clinic in March 2007 after working for an equine veterinary practice near Gawler. She currently holds her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and also helps with the administration of our clinics from our One Tree Hill practice.

Kristy has a life long love of animals and has experience with many different species, having had pets her whole life, which contributed to her choosing a career in the Veterinary Industry. She hopes to continue studying and to one day become a Veterinary Surgeon and have her own practice.

Kristy lives with her partner Clark, two dogs, four cats, a turtle, two ferrets and two horses.

 

Rebecca  Certificate Ill
Veterinary Nurse
Rebecca joined our team in 2010 and can be found working at our Modbury & Salisbury clinics.

She has been working as a Veterinary Nurse since 2000 and is currently completing her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.
 
Rebecca has 2 dogs, a 10 year old alaskan malamute named Mishka and the recent addition Astro, an 11 week old German Shepherd. She also has 2 ginger and white cats named Shady and Sandy. She Has a 4 year old son named Cody who loves to help mum with the animals too.
Sarah  Certificate IV
Veterinary Nurse

Sarah joined our team in 2011 and can be found working at our Salisbury & Modbury clinics.

She has completed her studies in certificate IV in vet nursing and is enjoying expanding her knowledge with continuing education.

She has two cats named "Tiger" & "Sox" who are both cheeky, dare devil domestics short hairs. She also has several hens.

In sarahs spare time she loves hanging out with family & friends, listening to music, fishing and spending much deserved time down at the beach.

Michelle  
Veterinary Nurse

Michelle joined our team in early 2011 after making the move from her hometown in the Riverland and can be found mainly working at our Midway Rd clinic.

She previously worked in a Riverland Vet Practice as a Kennel hand for 2 1/2 yrs.

Michelle is very keen in the rehabilation of wildlife.

Michelle's hobbies include spending time with family, and friends and walking her dog.

 

Kyra  Certificate lV
Veterinary Nurse

Kyra has been a member of our nursing team since 2003. She is currently on maternity leave but usually  works at our Modbury clinic.

Kyra previously worked in retail and hospitality but decided to become a veterinary nurse because of a love for animals and as she says "it is an interesting profession with every day something new". She is a very enthusiastic veterinary nurse and enjoys surgery and is interested in the different procedures and outcomes. She also enjoys assisting in consultations as she loves meeting new people. This shines through with her bright, bubbly and caring personality being of great assistance to the clients and patients that visit the clinic.


In her spare time Kyra enjoys surfing, yoga and music as well as spending time with her Partner and 3 children.

Kyra has four cats. Lilly who is snobby but sweet, Layne a Russian Blue who is also known as "pretty boy", Ginger man who is quite accident prone and is constantly visiting us in the clinic. All of whom have been adopted since she started working in the clinic! She also has a very friendly but hopelessly silly chocolate Labrador called Hope.

Kyra's goals and ambitions are to one day work at the Zoo with large animals and to keep a balanced family & work life.

Tracey  
Groomer

Tracey is one of our pet grooming staff, and works at our Midway Road Clinic.

Tracey is a very experienced dog groomer and works with many different breeds shampooing them to look and smell beautiful.

Tracey's patients love coming to see her, and she always spoils them with cuddles and kisses, however some do not return her love but tracey does not mind.

Tracey has 2 dogs at home which she absolutely adores "Griffen" & "Ryder". She also has a number of rats.

Pam G  
Groomer

Pam joined our team of groomers in 2007 and can be found working at our Elizabeth Park clinic.

She has been involed in dogs for over 18yrs and has been grooming them for the past 10yrs and loves it.

Pam also has a love for Alaskan Malamutes which she showed and they also competed in weight pulling, and racing them in the Mt. Crawford forest.

In Pam's spare time she enjoys bike riding, water sking and general fitness, and loves to go camping with her family.

Janet  
Groomer

Janet joined our team in 2010 and can be found working at our Elizabeth Park & Midway Rd clinics.

Janet has been grooming for 3yrs and throughly enjoys it.

She used to show Rottweilers and Whippets but now shows Appaloosa horses in ridden and led advents and have been very successful both here and interstate. 

Janet is also a qualified Dog Obedience Instructor.

She has 3 maltese x's Cooper, Bailey & Marley at home which she adores.

 

Pam B  
Groomer

Pam joined our grooming team in 2007 and can found working at our Salisbury Clinic.

Pam has been grooming for over 15yrs and she has experience in all breeds, she also grooms Rabbits & Cats.

Pam has 2 Parson Russell Terries at home called "Gypsy" & "Rusty" who go everywhere with her and they love having play time with the puppies who come in for grooming, She also has a Appaloosa gelding called "Brock" whom she shows all over Australia.

She also has 3 Goats, 1 Sheep, a miniature pony and 6 cats who all wonder on pams 12 acre property.

 

 

Natasha  
Groomer

Natasha joined our team of groomers in 2011, and can be found working at our Mobury Clinic.

Natasha has been grooming for over 3 years and specialises in specific breeds such as poodles, Westies, Schnauzers and many other breeds.

She has completed all grooming courses including the Advance Course at TAFE.

Natsha has two pets at home a 9yr old Chihuahua named "Duey" and her current addition "Precious" a chocolate burmese cross.

Annette  
Groomer

Annette joined our team of groomers in 2010 and can be found working at our Elizabeth Park Clinic.

Annette has been grooming for over 20yrs and loves the transformation the doggies make once they are clipped and hydrobathed and looking and smelling lovely.

In her spare time she loves nothing more then spending time with friends, family and going to the movies.

Annette has 3 teenagers at home.

 

Jo  
Receptionist

Joanne joined us in the position of receptionist at our Elizabeth Park Clinic in 2003. Joanne has many years of experience in the medical field and has worked in several medical practices during her career.

A great lover of animals, Joanne describes working in a Veterinary Practice as her dream job. She offers a large amount of support to the rest of our team and we all wonder how we coped before she joined us! 

Annabelle (Accountant)  
Receptionist

Annabelle, a university graduate accountant, is responsible for all the accounting work of the practices and the administrative details necessary to keep all our clinics and staff functioning efficiently and effectively.

Annabelle relocated to Adelaide in 2000 after living in Roxby Downs for 8 years, and working for Western Mining as a financial accountant.

Annabelle and her husband Deon have two young children McKeeley and Bradman, as well as a cat named "Zoe" who keep them extremely busy.

Annabelle interests include gardening, and travelling.

 

Ruth Irving  

Ruth has been a Veterinary Nurse for 31 years.

During the last 20 years in addition to assisting her husband with veterinary work she has also become one of Adelaide's leading Antique Dealers and runs a large garden at home.

The garden at AL-RU Farm has been featured on TV and in books and magazines and attracts visitors from interstate and overseas.
 

Brandon  
Assistant Nurse

Brandon has recently joined our team  in 2011 and can be found working at our Salisbury Clinic part time as he is currently completeing his year 12.

Brandon has always had a love for animals from a young age and has completed work experience at pet shops, Gorge Wildlife park and also at our Midway Road Vet Clinic. Brandon would like to persue TAFE next year to become a veterinary nurse.

In his spare time he loves to play his electric guitar and go camping.

Brandon has 2 cockatiels called "Ecko" & "Dizzy" who love to be out of there cage and fly around the house.

Stephanie  Certificate lll
Veterinary Nurse

Stephanie joined our group in August 2008 and can be found working at our Elizabeth Park Clinic.

She previously worked in the Hospitality Industries but her dream job was to work with animals

She has started her second year at TAFE studying Certificate II in Veterinary Nursing.

Stephanie is very keen and enthusiastic and enjoys all aspects of her job.

She has 2 dogs at home “Armani” & “Diego” which she calls her babies.

In her spare time she loves catching up with friends and going to the movies.

Debbie  
Receptionist

Debbie joined our team in August 2011 and can be found working at our Midway Road Vet Clinic.

Debbie previously worked as a Human Nurse for 23yrs before deciding on a career change so she purchased her own womens fitness gym which she ran for 4yrs.

In debbies spare time she enjoys spending time with her partner and kids including her fist grand child Emma.

She also enjoys reading, gardening and scrapbooking.

Natasha S  Certificate lll
Veterinary Nurse

Natasha has been part of our nursing team since 2000, and can be found working at our Elizabeth Park Vet Clinic.

Natasha has two dogs at home “A.J” & “Tori”.

Natasha is kept busy chasing after her 3 sons Jye, Ethan & Curtis

Melanie  
Veterinary Nurse

Melanie joined our team in November 2011 she can be found working at our Elizabeth Park Vet Clinic

She has a vast animal experience in the animal industry in different sections before finding where she was meant to be, studying to become a veterinay nurse. Melanie has worked in dog kennels and also used to manage a pet shop.

Melanie has a keen interest in Pet nutrition and health.

In her spare time she likes playing with her dogs "Baldric" & "Peanut", breeding her Siamese and Oriental cats, spending time with her beautiful family, online gaming and playing the violin.

She is a registered Siamese and oriental breeder.

Tayla joined our team in November 2011 and can be found working at our Modbury Vet Clinic.
