Belinda Roberts

Veterinary Practice Manager (Life experience)

Belinda has always been surrounded by animals so we saw lots of her. She also saw enough of us to see that we desperately needed a professional financial manager! Belinda is the key to running our business as she allows us to get on with looking after animals rather than worrying about BAS’s etc.

She lives at Ocean Shores with her husband Scott, son Ollie and her Border Collies – Tilly and Panda, and Huck.

Belinda bought into the Practice in 2013 when Neil retired. Belinda enjoys ensuring staff are on an even keel and that everybody has their heads above water with a smile on their dials!

Belinda has extensive professional experience having worked in her own and many other businesses including several stints in the film industry alongside many heavies of the Australian big screen scene. Belinda is a deadly  expert book keeper, IT guru, HR manager, quilter, textiler and community volunteer extraordinaire.

And don't forget your receipts!

Erin Tottenham

Veterinarian (BVSc(Hons) )

Erin grew up with a menagerie of animals on a small property in Bellingen. After completing her Veterinary Science degree at Sydney University she started her veterinary career in a Glen Innes mixed practice before travelling to the UK for a two year working holiday.  She has worked in many practices in Australia as a locum before joining the MVC team in 2013.

Erin owns two horses and a miniature pony, two goats, two dogs, a cat, a donkey and a few cows.  She enjoys the challenge of difficult medical cases and the variety of working in mixed practice with a good balance of large and small animal work. In her spare time Erin enjoys horse riding, red wine and chasing a small leather ball around a cold windy paddock dressed in a bizarre, garish outfit!

Bec Patison

Veterinarian (BVSc Bsc(Vet.Biol))

Bec graduated from Charles Sturt Uni in Wagga in 2011 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science/ Veterinary Biology.  Her vet career began in Dalby, a mixed animal practice on the Darling Downs, Queensland. During her time at Dalby Bec gained a broad spectrum of veterinary  expertise in a variety of animal species including extensive and intensive animal production systems.

Bec joined MVC in August 2013 and brings with her experience in equine dentistry, cattle preg testing and Bull Breeding Soundness Examinations. Bec also has a passion for small animal medicine, reproduction and soft tissue surgery.

Bec and her partner Tim become proud parents for the first time in 2016 to a healthy baby girl named Elka. They live with two crazy labradors Bahgirah and Mocha which they breed from.

Neil Farquhar

Veterinarian (BVSc(Hons.)MANZCVS)

Neil Farquhar established MVC in 1997 having come from a mixed practice background. Neil retired as a partner of MVC and as a practising Vet in July 2013. His share of the MVC partnership was purchased by Belinda Roberts(Practice Manager) and Richard Gregory (Veterinarian).

Neil graduated in 1974 from the University of Queensland and has owned and worked in practices in North East Victoria, Cornwall UK, as well as a stint in the Victorian Dept. of Agriculture for 6 years.

Neil is originally a  Brisbane boy, so his allegiance to the Broncos and Maroons has to be tolerated – his motto, “Queenslanders are like Catholics, there is no such thing as an ex Queenslander, only a lapsed one!”

Neil did his uni. work experience in Mullumbimby so was always likely to return to Mullumbimby to make it his family home.

Neil, his wife Sue (Murwillumbah born and Mullumbimby raised) and daughter Sam live on the outskirts of Mullumbimby with a menagerie of pets, including a rather large resident python.  His interests include golf (even if it’s raining!), reading,  and gardening. He is also secretary of Mullumbimby Rural Cooperative and an appointed board member of the North Coast Livestock Health and Pest Authority.

Head Nurse (Cert. IV in Veterinary Nursing.)

Having spent the early years liaising with us through the Animal Welfare League, we decided in 2006 that we needed Emma on our team and offered her the position of Veterinary Nurse. Her early years of looking after the health and well-being of our less fortunate animal friends has left her in good stead for her multifaceted role within the practice.

Hailing from the beautiful Northern Beaches of Sydney, Emma has always lived with a menagerie of animals along with her two great kids and a husband (not sure of the order!) Her other talents include dress making, which she did professionally in Sydney for 10 years. This talent has also been used to great effect within the practice.

Emma has been an invaluable member of the team for over 10 years & is now our Head Nurse.

Veterinary Nurse (Cert. IV in Veterinary Nursing)

Cassandra started as a Saturday morning volunteer and never missed a morning! So when a job as a Trainee Veterinary Nurse became available, the decision was easy. That was over 5 years ago now and Cass has become a key member of our team. Cassandra is a qualified Cert IV Vet Nurse, with a keen interest in anaesthetics.

When Cassandra isn’t in the clinic she is being kept busy by chasing her young son Arlan around.  She also enjoys fishing and loves all creatures finned and furry!

Veterinary Nurse (Cert. IV in Veterinary Nursing)

Shoallea moved to the Northern Rivers from her hometown of Grafton 4 years ago to join the team at Mullum Vet. She has a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing which she completed while working in Coffs Harbour. Shoallea enjoys organising community fundraisers such as the Pet Show at the Mullum Show and the Cupcake Day fundraiser for RSPCA. She is especially fond of "old man" dogs!

Shoallea is kept busy with her daughter Jazz and her "old man" dog Zeke, as well as petsitting for various families in the Northern Rivers. She has recently completed her first part-marathon and enjoys bushwalking exploring the great outdoors.

Veterinary Nurse (Cert. IV in Veterinary Nursing)

Ronnie joined the team as a part time Nurse at Mullum Vet in 2014 where soon after she completed her Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing. Ronnie is a very passionate & caring nurse to all our fury and not fury friends.

When she is not a work she is busy surfing and camping with her husband and 2 chilldren. Ronnie also has 2 Labradors Chocco & Pepper, a Papillon called Zorro & a kitty, Cheety.

Ronnie treats us every week with delicious home baked cake!

Leannda Scott

Receptionist (Cert III in Business Administration.)

When ringing  the clinic chances are the first voice you will hear will be Leannda's. Leannda showed us her skills when doing work experience so when our receptionist started having babies, Leannda was thrown in the deep end as our new receptionist. And aren't we glad she took it on!  A local girl, with a love of horses, she has fitted in very well as a part of a team that really cares about our 2 and 4 legged friends.

Leannda shows her versatility to great effect through her IT, desk top publishing and account keeping expertise.

Gorgeous (aka Gorgy)

Customer Service

Gorgy came to us after being hit by a car at only 6 months of age, she needed emergency surgery to repair her fractured hip. No-one claimed the injured grey kitten and the staff had fallen in love with her so it was unanamously decided she become a residant.

When not guarding her territory she loves to sit on the reception desk greeting clients with a fiesty tail flick and the occasional swipe if not patted properly, although she does seem to be mellowing in her old age! If she isnt on the front counter she is curled up on her snooza bed in reception.

Gorgy is a popular attraction of the clinic and is loved by all (even when shes in a mood!)
