Puppy Pre-school

There are many benefits to teaching your puppy to be well behaved at an early age. Young puppies are quite able to learn obedience skills, toileting behaviour and social boundaries. All of these things help make your relationship with your dog more rewarding for the years to come.

Puppy preschool is a four week course designed for young puppies (8 to 20 weeks old) in their critical period of learning. They learn basic obedience and we address all those typical "puppy problems". You will learn how to walk your puppy on a lead properly plus how to sit, drop, stand, come & stay. Most importantly, your puppy will be able to socialise with other puppies and people, and learn how to do so appropriately.

Quakers Hill Veterinary Hospital hosts Kerry Chauncy & her Puppy Preschool on Saturday mornings. Each class lasts one hour. The full course costs $80.00. The pup must a have a current vaccination certificate. We ask you to bring a collar and lead (haltis, gentle leaders and harnesses are accepted). On graduation, each puppy receives a pack containing summary notes of the lessons and a certificate.

The most important thing about Puppy Pre-school is 'start early'. Waiting too long can allow behaviour problems to establish which then require more intensive training to overcome.

Kerry also provides an "Adolescent School" for the older puppy.
